The MO-1000 is a serger with air threading: a burst of air from the electric motor pushes the thread through the upper and lower loopers instead of tweezers. It sews with 2, 3 or 4 threads and 1 or 2 needles, so it moves from a plain overedge to a full overlock without switching machines, with a dedicated converter to switch between 2 and 3 threads. The upper knife can be deactivated when you only need to finish an edge without trimming it.
Differential feed adjusts from 0.7 to 2.0, even while sewing, to keep a stretch fabric flat or gather a light one. Presser foot pressure is adjustable, and the foot itself lifts either 5 or 8 mm depending on the position selected, to move from thin to thicker fabrics. Top speed is 1,500 stitches per minute, and it weighs 9 kg.
It suits someone who already uses a serger and wants to save time on threading, the slowest and most frustrating step on this kind of machine: it does not cover cover-stitch work, which stays the job of a different machine.

Pros and cons
In favour
- The loopers thread with a burst of air: no need to chase the thread with tweezers
- It sews with 2 to 4 threads and 1 or 2 needles: it moves from a plain overedge to a full overlock without switching machines
- The needle threader is automatic too, not just the looper threader
- The presser foot lifts 5 or 8 mm depending on the position: two levels for fabrics of different thickness
Worth knowing
- It is a serger: it does not make buttonholes or straight finishing seams - a dedicated machine is needed for cover-stitch work source
- Differential feed is set on a dial: it has to be adjusted by hand every time the fabric changes
