The Luminaire 3 XP3 is Brother's flagship for sewing, embroidery and quilting on one machine, with StitchVision technology that projects a preview of the stitch or design directly onto the fabric before you sew. It includes four embroidery hoops, from the small 4" x 4" to the large 10 5/8" x 16", with automatic hoop recognition.

It has 869 sewing stitches and 1,554 built-in embroidery designs, with both thread tension and needle threading automatic. The embroidery arm moves aside to leave room for decorative stitching directly on the fabric even with the unit attached. The set of 17 presser feet covers everything from free-motion quilting to hemming, and the knee lifter frees your hands without touching the controls.

It is a machine built for people running complex projects on a regular basis — large quilts, elaborate embroidery, finished garments — not for someone looking for a basic sewing machine: the embroidery functions and fine adjustments take time to learn in full.
