The Innov-is F580 is a sewing-and-embroidery combination machine from Brother's European range: 241 utility and decorative stitches with 10 one-step buttonholes for sewing, plus 193 built-in embroidery designs, all on the same 3.7-inch colour LCD touchscreen. It is the model that brings embroidery into the mid-tier of the sewing range, sharing its body and speed with the F560.
The embroidery area is 180x130 mm, with two hoops included and an embroidery speed of up to 650 stitches per minute. Design transfer goes through a dedicated Windows app as well as USB and Wi-Fi, useful for anyone wanting to download or organise their own motifs from a computer. The thread cutter and tension are both automatic, and the knee lifter leaves both hands free while sewing.
It suits someone who wants to add embroidery to everyday sewing without moving to a professional model, not someone looking for a wider embroidery area or a larger hoop range: that stays with the higher models in the range.
