The H867-290362-70 is Dürkopp Adler's compound-feed head from the M-TYPE series, built for leather, technical textiles and thick plies: bottom feed, needle feed and an alternating walking foot work together, with a foot lift reaching 25 mm to pass bundles of material a plain lockstitch machine wouldn't accept. Stitch length runs up to 12 mm, useful for decorative topstitching as well as structural seams.
Electronic needle positioning comes standard on this -70 variant, letting you program backtacking without reaching in by hand, while the extra-large vertical hook with 3XL bobbin cuts down bobbin changes on long seams with thick thread. The wide 700 mm clearance under the arm helps with large pieces.
It's a machine for a leather or technical-textile shop running thick bundles every day, not a plain lockstitch for light garments: the 9 mm stroke of the alternating foot exists to climb the height changes between different plies, something a drop-feed-only machine can't do.

Pros and cons
In favour
- Foot lift reaches 25 mm, enough to pass material bundles a drop-feed-only machine wouldn't accept
- Bottom feed, needle feed and walking foot work together, keeping plies aligned even when they'd otherwise slip
- Electronic needle positioning is standard on this variant, so backtacking is set from the panel
- The extra-large hook with 3XL bobbin cuts down bobbin changes on long seams with thick thread
Worth knowing
- The 12 mm stitch length and foot stroke exist for thick bundles — more machine than needed on light fabric
- It doesn't use the needle system found on common lockstitch machines — check the exact code before stocking spare needles
