Jack H2-A-CZ

The H2-A-CZ is Jack's top-and-bottom-feed straight lockstitch machine for heavy material: a 750 W direct-drive motor mounted straight on the shaft, no belt, with a presser foot that lifts from 7 to 16 mm to handle leather, canvas and non-woven layers. Jack markets it for heavy material, and it sews up to 8 mm stitch length — wide enough for broad topstitching on bags, seat cushions and upholstery.
The stitch-length dial has a mechanical safety lock lever, and the alternating foot's throw is shown on a graduated scale so you can match feed to material thickness. The -12 version of the same machine reaches 12 mm stitch length for even bulkier work (curtains, carpets); the base H2-A-CZ stops at 8 mm.
It's built for an upholstery or leather shop running heavy material every day, not a general apparel lockstitch machine: the direct-drive motor cuts running cost but doesn't add the needle feed that more specialised industrials use to keep plies that slip against each other in line.

Pros and cons
In favour
- The alternating foot works with the bottom feed dog, keeping leather and canvas layers from creeping forward
- The direct-drive motor mounts straight on the shaft — no belt, less vibration, lower running cost
- Presser foot lift reaches 16 mm, enough to feed extra plies of leather or canvas without stopping
- Stitch length reaches 8 mm, wide enough for broad topstitching on bags and upholstery
Worth knowing
- It uses the DPx17 needle system, so stock of other needle systems won't fit
- It's built for heavy material — more machine than you need on light fabric
