The 868-490322-M is the post-bed version of the same twin-needle disengageable head as the 867: the same sewing mechanics, but the flat bed is replaced by a slim post that reaches inside shoes, bags and other pieces already sewn into shape. Twin-needle decorative seams stay parallel even around a corner, because one of the two needle bars switches off from the keypad and lowers again after the turn.
The drive is direct and integrated in the head, run by the DAC classic control with its OP1000 panel; thread trimmer, backtacking and presser foot lift are automatic. The large vertical hook takes heavy synthetic threads, up to 10/3.
It is the machine to choose once the piece is already three-dimensional — uppers, leather goods, upholstery covers — not for working fabric flat on a table: for that, the flatbed 867 remains the option.
