Data from official source

The 5622 is a multi-needle double-chainstitch (401) machine — up to 10 needles, with the gauge between the outer needles adjustable from 4.8 to 60 mm — built for visible decorative top-stitching: jeans, workwear, sportswear, curtains and awnings. INLINE technology keeps the loopers parallel and moving in the sewing direction, so the stitch looks identical from the right and left needle.

Chainstitch doesn't use a bobbin, so there's no mid-job bobbin change — just needle thread to refill. Threading runs through swing-out loopers, all reachable from the front of the machine. The presser foot lifts automatically, pneumatically; stitch length runs up to 6 mm, and there's 11 mm of clearance under the foot.

It comes in a B/BN6 version for medium-weight material and a C/CN6 version for medium-heavy. The head alone weighs about 56 kg: table and stand are separate, and it needs a compressed-air line for the automatic foot lift.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • Chainstitch doesn't use a bobbin: no mid-seam bobbin changes source

  • Up to 10 needles with gauge adjustable from 4.8 to 60 mm: the same head sews narrow or very wide top-stitching source
  • Threading runs through swing-out loopers, all reachable from the front of the machine source

Worth knowing

  • It needs compressed air for the automatic foot lift: without a pneumatic line on the floor, it won't lift on its own source
  • The head alone weighs about 56 kg: table and stand are separate source
  • It's a chainstitch machine: that's all it sews, no buttonholes and no lockstitch source
