Data from official source

The MF-7500-U11/UT is a high-speed, flat-bed industrial coverstitch machine for top-and-bottom covering stitch: the "universal" type used for hemming T-shirt sleeves and bottoms, covering sportswear, and knitwear seams. Stitch length runs up to 3.6 mm, and needle gauge is chosen from 3.2, 4.0, 4.8, 5.6 or 6.4 mm depending on the job.

The motor is direct-drive: every version with an automatic thread trimmer, this one included, uses a direct-drive motor, which removes the V-belt, cuts down on belt shavings, and shortens stop distance. The UY128GAS needle is the industry standard for coverstitch work, so spares are easy to find wherever this class of machine is sold.

It's a garment-line machine built to run the same stitch all day: it isn't meant for frequent changeovers, and needle gauge is set at the factory or by a technician, not with a dial on the panel.

02 · Summary

Pros and cons

In favour

  • The direct-drive motor on thread-trimmer versions shortens stop distance and has no V-belt to replace
  • The automatic thread trimmer is standard on the /UT: no hand-trimming at the end of a seam
  • Stitch length reaches 3.6 mm, enough to cover fabric heavier than plain light jersey
  • The UY128GAS needle is the industry standard for coverstitch work, so spares are easy to find source

Worth knowing

  • Needle gauge is chosen at order time or by a technician, not with a quick in-line adjustment source
  • It only does coverstitch: straight stitching or overlock needs a different head source
