The 525i is an industrial zigzag machine with interchangeable cams, built for ornamental stitching on stretch knitwear, underwear and textile shoe uppers: cams swap in a few minutes, so one pattern gives way to another without rebuilding the machine. It runs single-needle or twin-needle, with the needle distance chosen among 3, 4 or 5 mm depending on the sewing equipment fitted.
Lubrication is automatic, with a reservoir in the arm that doses the oil and protects the hook from wear; the large horizontal hook, with a 26 mm bobbin, cuts down on thread changes. The thread trimmer holds up to 20/3 synthetic thread without losing a clean cut.
It is a machine for light to medium fabric: leather and heavy canvas are not its field, and seam backtacking stays manual, not automatic.
