Data from official source

The b79 is the flagship of the bernette 70 series: one body that combines the b77's sewing with the b70 DECO's embroidery, with an embroidery module, 3 hoops and automatic hoop recognition. The 5" colour touchscreen runs both stitches and designs, and the integrated Dual Feed foot pulls the fabric from above and below together, useful on stacked layers or slippery fabric.

For sewing it has 500 stitches, a drop-in hook, stitch width up to 7 mm and fully automatic one-step buttonholes with no repositioning of the fabric; the slide-on extension table adds room for quilts and larger projects. For embroidery it handles motifs up to 260x160 mm without re-hooping, with designs loaded from a USB stick.

With the embroidery module attached the machine grows from 509 to 710 mm in length and from 9.34 kg to over 13 kg: embroidery mode needs more clear table space. It suits someone who wants serious sewing and embroidery in one body, not someone embroidering large formats or who would rather keep two separate dedicated machines.
