The bernette 62 AIRLOCK is a coverstitch machine: it sews a 4-thread coverstitch, a 3-thread coverstitch in wide and narrow versions, and a 2-thread chainstitch. The looper thread is threaded with the automatic air threader, while the needles are threaded with the manual needle threader. The threading paths are color-coded. Stitch length can be adjusted while sewing, and the presser foot pressure has 7 steps. It has a free arm, supplied with its cover, and a knee lifter to lower and temporarily raise the presser foot. Five LEDs light the sewing area, and a safety switch activates when the cover is open.
