This is a coverstitch machine, used to hem knits and stretch fabrics with two or three rows of stitches on the right side and a chain on the wrong side. It sews triple coverstitch, wide coverstitch and narrow coverstitch, plus chainstitch. It works with three needles and one looper thread; the looper is the part under the plate that forms the stitch. The free arm, the space under the needle free of surfaces around which sleeves and cuffs can be turned, is listed by the manufacturer for necklines and cuffs. Presser foot pressure is adjustable, and a one-touch lever releases the tension so fabric comes out easily. Looper threading is colour coded and the feet snap on. An LED light illuminates the work area and a clear foot is included.
