The Baby Lock Ursa is a single-needle embroidery machine for anyone who embroiders regularly and wants room to grow: the work area reaches 360 x 200 mm, and the built-in library holds 914 designs and 23 alphabets. Two-point positioning aligns a motif on precise fabric references, and resizing with stitch recalculation adjusts embroidery density when a design is enlarged or shrunk, instead of letting it fray or bunch up.
It connects to the home wireless network to receive new designs, and the IQ Intuition Monitoring app remotely tracks project progress, alerts for thread breaks or colour changes, and shows remaining time: useful for anyone who leaves the machine running and checks back later. Internal memory holds up to 2 MB or 20 saved designs, up to 500,000 stitches per pattern; two hoops are included, the largest at 8 x 14 inches.
It is a machine dedicated to embroidery only: anyone who also wants to sew needs a different model.

Pros and cons
In favour
- The 360 x 200 mm area cuts down how often the hoop needs to be removed and repositioned
- The IQ Intuition Monitoring app tracks progress remotely and alerts on thread breaks
- It stores up to 20 designs and 500,000 stitches per pattern in memory, without staying tethered to a USB stick
Worth knowing
- It is dedicated to embroidery only: it does not sew straight or decorative stitches like a combo machine source
- It reads only .pes and .dst among the catalogue's recognised formats: other formats need converting
