Data from official source

The Baby Lock Flare is a single-needle embroidery machine with a 6.25 x 10.25 inch work area, built for anyone who wants to start embroidering regularly without the larger design library of models with a bigger hoop. The 293 built-in designs and 14 alphabets are edited on the touchscreen, where elements are rotated, mirrored and combined before stitching; speed reaches 850 stitches per minute.

It connects to the home wireless network to transfer designs from a computer through the dedicated software, alongside a USB port for anyone who prefers a flash drive. Two hoops are included, covering both small projects and ones that use the full work area.

It is dedicated to embroidery only: it does not sew straight or decorative stitches, and anyone who also wants that needs a sewing-and-embroidery model.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • It connects to the home wireless network to transfer designs from a computer, alongside a USB port
  • Design elements can be rotated, mirrored and combined directly on the touchscreen
  • Two hoops are included, covering both small projects and larger ones

Worth knowing

  • It is dedicated to embroidery only: it does not sew straight or decorative stitches like a combo machine source
  • The largest hoop covers 6.25 x 10.25 inches: bigger designs need to be pieced together in multiple passes
  • It reads only .pes and .dst among the catalogue's recognised formats: other formats need converting
