The PR1055X is a 10-needle multi-needle embroidery machine, built for people who embroider regularly and want to speed up multi-colour designs: it switches needle and colour by itself, without stopping to re-thread each time. The automatic needle threader works on all ten needles at the touch of a button, a feature not every multi-needle machine in its range has built in.
It includes four hoops, from the large 8" x 14" sized for quilts and jacket backs down to the small 1.5" x 2" for fine detail: the machine detects on its own which hoop is mounted. The library holds 1,184 designs and 37 ready-to-use alphabet fonts, and USB, wireless LAN and a memory card reader cover the most common ways to bring in new projects.
Cap frames need a separate, optional accessory. It is a machine built for someone starting to sell what they embroider, not for a first, occasional try at embroidery: the jump from one needle to ten is felt mostly in how the work is organised, not in how hard the machine is to use.
