Organ Needles ORGAN HA×1DE
SewingSpecs does not sell and does not show shop prices: check the price where you buy.
This is Organ's denim needle for the domestic HA×1 system, the Japanese name for the 130/705H standard used by almost every domestic sewing machine. Made for the thick fabric of denim, it has a slim point that passes through the weave without cutting it: it sews cleanly even through several layers of heavy denim, where a universal needle struggles more.
It belongs to Organ's household needle line, sold in packs of 5 in a single size, #16 in the Japanese numbering used on the page, not converted to Nm by the manufacturer. It is not a general-purpose needle: on light denim or plain cotton a universal needle is enough, and there is no benefit to using this one where it is not needed.
It fits any domestic sewing machine that uses the HA×1 / 130/705 system, regardless of brand.

Pros and cons
In favour
- The slim point passes through denim without cutting its fibres, for a clean stitch on thick fabric
- Made specifically for denim, where a universal needle struggles more through multiple fabric layers
- HA×1 system, compatible with any domestic sewing machine that uses it
Worth knowing
- The point is built for heavy fabric: on jersey or stretch fabrics a true ball point reduces the risk of skipped stitches better
- Available in a single size (#16): it does not cover lighter or heavier denim with other sizes of the same type source
