Data from official source

This is Organ's needle for the DB×1 industrial system, the standard single-needle lockstitch needle fitted to the great majority of flatbed industrial machines, from Juki to Brother to Toyota. Within Organ's range it is the 'Regular' model: the R point, standard and slightly rounded, is the starting point before the specialised variants for knits, delicate synthetics or leather that the same DB×1 system offers.

On the same needle Organ also offers two surface treatments on request: PD titanium coating, aimed at wear resistance, and LP anti-adhesive coating, against adhesive and interfacing build-up on the thread. Neither is the standard state of this needle: both are ordered separately.

It fits single-needle industrial machines that use the DB×1 system: it is not interchangeable with the HA×1 needles of domestic machines, which have a different shank.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • R (regular) point, the general-purpose starting point of the DB×1 industrial range before the specialised variants
  • Also available with PD titanium coating, aimed at greater wear resistance source
  • DB×1 system, the most common standard across single-needle lockstitch industrial machines of different brands

Worth knowing

  • A general-purpose point: for knits or delicate synthetics the DB×1 range offers dedicated points (KN/SF, NS series) not fitted here source
  • Not compatible with domestic sewing machines: the DB×1 system has a different shank from HA×1
  • The PD and LP coatings are options on request, not this needle's standard state source
