Data from official source

The DDL-9000C-FSH is the full-digital, heavy-weight variant of Juki's DDL-9000C straight lockstitch line: the same compact 400 W servomotor mounted straight on the main shaft, but with a longer 35 mm needle bar stroke and Nm125-160 needle range for sewing thick fabric and multiple plies without skipping stitches.

Lubrication switches to a dedicated minute-quantity system, different from the medium-weight variant's, built for the extra heat of heavy-duty work. Foot lift still reaches 15 mm with the knee lifter, on top of the 5.5 mm hand-lever lift, and the double-edge rotary thread trimmer remains standard.

It's a garment-line machine for heavy material — padding, multiple layers of technical fabric — not a general-purpose lockstitch: top speed drops to 4,500 stitches per minute versus the medium-weight variant, the trade-off for greater penetration power.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • Needle range reaches Nm160, the range for heavy material and multiple plies
  • The 35 mm needle bar stroke is the longest in the series, built for thick plies
  • Knee-lever foot lift reaches 15 mm, freeing the hands to position the piece
  • The automatic thread trimmer and two-stage foot lift remove two manual steps at every piece change

Worth knowing

  • Top speed drops to 4,500 stitches per minute — the trade-off for greater capacity on heavy material
  • Maximum stitch length is still 5 mm even on this variant — wider topstitching calls for another machine in the range
