Data from official source

The DDL-9000C-FMS is the full-digital, medium-weight variant of Juki's DDL-9000C straight lockstitch line: a compact 400 W servomotor mounted straight on the main shaft, no belt, with a double-edge rotary thread trimmer as standard. Presser foot pressure is electronically controlled, not spring-loaded, and is set from the panel along with a two-stage automatic foot lift.

Foot lift reaches 15 mm with the knee lifter, on top of the 5.5 mm hand-lever lift, and the 30.7 mm needle bar stroke is the medium-weight version's setting. Needle range covers Nm65-110, the range for everyday garment fabric, and maximum stitch length is 5 mm.

It's a garment-line machine built to run medium-heavy fabric all day, not a leather machine: the heavy-weight variant in the same series uses a larger needle and a longer needle bar stroke for material beyond this range.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • Sews up to 5,000 stitches per minute on medium-heavy fabric, the pace of a production line
  • Knee-lever foot lift reaches 15 mm, freeing the hands to position the piece
  • The servomotor mounts straight on the main shaft — no belt, less vibration
  • The automatic thread trimmer and two-stage foot lift remove two manual steps at every piece change

Worth knowing

  • Needle range tops out at Nm110 — heavier material calls for the heavy-weight variant in the same series
  • Maximum stitch length is 5 mm — less than machines built for leather and upholstery
