The Cover Pro 3000 Professional is a machine dedicated to cover stitching, with a built-in top-cover guide: it sews from the underside only (the classic cover hem that finishes jersey and stretch garments) or from both sides at once, the version that also closes the back of the seam. Differential feed adjustable from 0.5 to 2.25 takes it from fabric that tends to stretch out to fabric you want to gather on purpose.
It sews with 1, 2 or 3 needles: 1 needle makes a 2-thread chain stitch, 2 needles make a cover stitch at a wide 6 mm or narrow 3 mm, and 3 needles make a 4-thread triple cover stitch or a 6 mm-wide 5-thread top cover. Stitch length runs from 1 to 4 mm and top speed reaches 1,000 stitches per minute. The needle threader is built in, while the lower looper still needs manual access, and cutting width isn't adjustable: there's no knife to set here, unlike on a serger.
Thread tension is set on manual dials, and the free arm converts to a flat bed for tubular garments. It suits someone who already owns a serger and wants to add a professional cover hem, not someone looking for cutting and raw-edge finishing in the same machine.
