Singer SINGER Simple 3337
SewingSpecs does not sell and does not show shop prices: check the price where you buy.
The Simple 3337 is an entry-level Singer mechanical machine, with a metal interior frame and 29 stitches: a first machine for someone who has never sewn or is picking it up again after a long break. The stitch is chosen by turning the dial until it appears in the window, with no buttons or screen.
The buttonhole is sewn in a single step: you place the button in the dedicated foot and the machine sews the buttonhole already sized to fit, a level of automation not usually found on such a simple mechanical machine. The needle threader is engaged with a dedicated lever, thread tension is set on a dial numbered 0 to 9, and the free arm is exposed by removing the accessory storage compartment for cuffs and trouser legs. The presser feet snap off without a screw.
It does not publish a maximum stitch width or a sewing speed, and the presser foot has no lever to drop the feed dogs: darning uses a plate placed over the feed teeth instead. It suits someone who wants to start sewing without spending much or learning many settings, not someone looking for wide decorative stitches or advanced automatic functions.

Pros and cons
In favour
- The buttonhole is sewn in a single step, an automation rarely found on such a simple mechanical machine
- The needle threader is engaged with a dedicated lever, without threading by hand
- The metal interior frame gives stability in everyday use
Worth knowing
- Thread tension is entirely manual, on a numbered dial with no electronic assistance
- Darning needs a plate placed over the feed teeth, not a lever that drops them source
