Data from official source

This is the computerized version of the Heavy Duty line: instead of a dial, an LCD screen shows the selected stitch, width and length, called up with a button instead of turning a ring. The one-step buttonhole comes in 7 styles, and there is one font for initials and monograms.

The interior frame stays metal, with the same type of motor as the mechanical Heavy Duty line: presser foot pressure is adjustable, the feed dog drops for free-motion work, and removing the storage compartment frees the arm. The presser foot lifts 6 mm.

It suits people who want the convenience of a screen and button-based selection without moving up to an embroidery or advanced quilting machine: it remains a machine for sewing heavy fabrics with a bit more electronic convenience, not a multi-function machine.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • The selected stitch, width and length stay visible on the screen.
  • The one-step buttonhole comes in 7 ready-made styles.
  • The interior frame is the same metal frame as the Heavy Duty line.
  • The multi-voltage power supply covers several countries' mains standards.

Worth knowing

  • The needle threader works with a manual lever, not a button.
  • The presser foot lifts only 6 mm, less clearance for very thick layers than other machines in the range.
  • Selection is single-button: you must scroll through stitches one by one, with no numeric keypad.
