Data from official source

This is a mechanical machine from the same Heavy Duty line as the 4423, with 32 dial-selected stitches instead of 23 and no display. The one-step buttonhole still only needs the button placed in its foot; stitch length and width (up to 6 mm) are set with dials.

The interior frame is metal and the bed plate stainless steel; presser foot pressure is adjustable to follow both lightweight fabrics and thick layers of denim or canvas. The feed dog drops for free-motion sewing, and removing the storage compartment frees the arm. The motor holds speed up to 1100 stitches per minute.

It suits people who want a few more decorative stitches than the line's entry model, while staying on a mechanical machine that is simple to learn: anyone after a display or stored stitches should look at the computerized versions of the line.
