This is a mechanical machine: the 23 built-in stitches are selected with a dial and there is no display. The one-step buttonhole is sewn in a single pass, and stitch length and width (up to 6 mm) are set with dials. The interior frame is metal and the bed plate is stainless steel, so fabric glides with less friction; the motor, 60% stronger than a standard one, pushes speed up to 1100 stitches per minute.
Presser foot pressure is adjustable, so the machine copes with both lightweight fabrics and thick layers of denim or canvas; the presser foot lifter has an extra-high position to let more layers through. The needle threader is built in, and the presser feet snap on. Removing the storage compartment frees the arm, useful for hems and cuffs.
It suits people who sew denim, canvas and sturdy fabrics regularly and want a simple machine to learn, with no electronics to manage: anyone after complex decorative stitches or stored stitch memory should look elsewhere.
