This is a fully-featured mechanical machine, with 34 stitches spanning basic, stretch stitches for jersey and knits, decorative patterns and scallops. Unlike simpler machines in the range, length and width adjust on every stitch here, not just the zigzag: up to 4 mm long and 5 mm wide.
The buttonhole is sewn in a single automatic pass, the needle threader is automatic, and a backlit LED viewer shows the selected stitch. The frame is metal, the feed has 6 rows, and the protected motor keeps the machine quiet even on heavy fabrics.
It suits someone sewing a variety of garments regularly, from jersey to denim, without stepping up to electronics: anyone after alphanumeric stitches, stored settings or a display will only find those in models with electronic control.
