Which one to choose
Choose Brother SE700 if…
You embroider small motifs and want a lighter machine: 6.83 kg against 10 kg. The 4 × 4 inch hoop and 8 presser feet are included, and there is Wi-Fi. The trade-off is a smaller embroidery field, with fewer stitches and fewer lettering styles to choose from.
Choose Janome Memory Craft 1000 if…
You embroider designs wider than 10 cm, such as lettering or motifs that would not fit one hoop on the SE700. You get many more stitches and twice the lettering styles. The trade-off is weight: 10 kg.
