Data from official source

This is a sit-down longarm: the machine stays fixed and the quilt moves, sliding on the 32×36-inch InSight table that comes with the machine. Throat space is 18 inches, with 8 inches of clearance above the table: four times the space of a home sewing machine, in a footprint that still fits a small studio. It sews up to 2,200 stitches per minute.

Stitch regulation lives in the InSight table rather than in the machine, and it ships as standard: it holds the chosen length between 4 and 22 stitches per inch, and can also be switched off to sew in manual mode at a pedal-set speed, with two presets to recall. A color touch screen with simple icons runs the functions, and a low-bobbin estimator warns before the thread runs out. 18×32-inch table extensions are available to add more surface.

It suits someone who wants to free-motion quilt while seated, without setting up an upright frame; anyone who already has a frame, or who'd rather move the machine than the quilt, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

In favour

  • The InSight table with stitch regulation ships as standard, from 4 to 22 stitches per inch
  • 18 inches of throat space and 8 of clearance: four times the space of a home sewing machine
  • The low-bobbin estimator warns before the thread runs out mid-design
  • Regulation can be switched off to sew in manual mode with two speed presets

Worth knowing

  • Stitch regulation lives in the InSight table, not in the machine: without that table there is none
